Three Step Card

Some Sale-a-bration stamps.
These cards were great fun to make...once I got my measurements sorted out.
I used mostly pencils to colour in on the aqua card and sponge brayers to colour the background.
For the orange card I used mostly markers (when I had the right colours) & Blender pens and ink pads for the rest.

Inspiration for this card came from Paperwishes.com on Pinterest
Or check out the Weekly Webisodes by Gail Booth

These cards were a lot of fun as well. It was actually around Easter time when I made these cards (yes...that was a while ago) so I thought they could have been good for Easter cards too... with chickens and eggs and all that.
I made a mask for the chicken and the egg so I could sponge crumb cake all around them and still have a white chook and eggs.
I was going for a hen house look, so the hexagons embossing folder was perfect for chicken wire. Just ink up the hexagon outlines (the side with the logo on it) I used a rubber brayer and smoky slate ink, then press onto cardstock - I did this step after stamping, sponging & colouring, so the ink wouldn't smudge.

Corner fold card - Featuring From land to Sea

Stamp Set: From Land to Sea & Hardwood
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Whisper White & Sahara Sand
Ink: Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Delightful Dijon, Always Artichoke, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Cucumber Crush,  So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede & Versa Mark
Tools: Hearth & Home Thinlits & Heat Tool
Extras; Clear Embossing Powder, White Gel Pen & Wink of Stella
Techniques: Heat Emboss & Resist, Watercolouring, Sponging & Masking

I used a white gel pen to write the message on to this piece of cardstock before adhering onto the card base.

The Card base is just a large square, scored in half vertical and in half horizontally to make four square quarters. Then score one quarter in half diagonally and cut along the scoreline of the quarter next to the diagonally scored quarter (not the same quarter with the diagonal scoreline, but the next  one over).

It's much easier to stick all the pieces onto the card base before assembling it together.

Here I have tucked excess twine into the two sides that create the front of the card.

The diagonal scoreline on the bottom of the card folds up so that the whole card will fold flat.

I Wrapped the present in brown paper and Kraft Rope Trim (with lots of knots), then slipped in a piece of cardstock with a jellyfish to match to card.

Stamp Sets: Oh What Fun & Holly Berry Happiness
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Real Red, Garden Green & Candy Cane Lane dsp
Ink: White Craft, Versa Mark, Real Red & Garden Green
Tools: Star Framelits & Holly Berry Builder Punch
Extras: White Embossing Powder, White Gel Pen & Candy Cane Lane Washi Tape
Techniques: Heat Embossing & Sponging (chalkboard)

This card sat together better a different way than the previous card, so I just arranged the inserts to suit the card base.

Hidden Message Card - featuring Picture Perfect

It works like a gate fold card at the front opening, then tucks into an embellishment on dimensionals. (At least this is what works for me, you could also use a belt or ribbon to secure the card closed)
When the card is open it reveals a message on the inside.
Then when you bring the two mountains together (by folding the middle in half backward)...

You can open the centre the other way to reveal the hidden message.

This card is really cool. Everyone in the class was very impressed by how fun this card was to play with, yet how easy it was to make.

This next card was made the same way, but with different sizing. I just played around with measurements, so I think it could be made to suit individual needs.

I've found Thick White Cardstock is the most suitable for weaving through the middle section. Though it can't hurt to experiment...

I had done a different version of this card for the class. It was Black, white & Gray using the motor bike from born to ride. I can't seem to find the card to take  photo, I think Ive given it away...

Here are all (...well most) of the colours I used for stamping the birds, flowers and sponging some backgrounds. If I hadn't taken these photo during the process, I'd never remember all the colours I used. I do get a bit carried away with colour sometimes...

The background on the left is coloured with the rubber brayer while the background on the right is coloured with sponges.

Step 1

Step 2
Sometimes I would just add a bit of colour using a dauber or a sponge.

Step 3

Step 4

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

oops... I've accidentally deleted a photo that was here... : /
Probably adding Sweet Sugarplum & Rich Razzleberry to the throat.
Step 4

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 1

Step 2 & 3

Step 4
Experimenting with colour can be fun.

I find it easier to start with the darkest colour when triple stamping with photopolymer, then you can see through the lighter colour ink on the stamp and can line up more easily with the darker ink that's already been stamped.
