Dark & Spooky Cards

I know we don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia, (well I actually take my kids "trick or treating" at Old Gippstown) but I just couldn't help myself, I had to make something Halloween.

Stamps: Holiday Home & Gorgeous Grunge
Card stock: Mossy Meadow, Basic Black, Whisper White & Vellum.
Blendabilities: Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy & Colour lifter.
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Pacific Point, Night of Navy Elegant Eggplant, Smoky Slate & Memento Black.
Extras: Top Note Die, Washi Tape, Circle Punch & Acetate (for making stencils).
Techniques: Tearing, Alcohol Colouring, Masking & Sponging.

Here you can see I've used a craft knife to cut the door open on the house, then I stuck in a ghost that I stamped in Smoky Slate onto Vellum, fussy cut & used a glue dot to adhere.
I also masked the edges of the windows before stamping the ghosts again in Smoky Slate ink, then used the colour lifter to lighten them a little bit.

This card was for my daughter-Jayda's friend, so Jayda stamped & coloured the girl with Alcohol Markers herself, (which I thought she did a pretty good job), then came to me & asked me to make the rest of the card to go with it....
Her requests were to match the girl, in colour bule, purple & black, as well as keeping it spooky. We also need somewhere to put the money (which was her present + chocolate).

This one was for my sister in-law, so Jayda also stamped and coloured in the girl on this card as well since it was for her auntie. The idea was to make it like Linda (the recipient) who wanted red & purple ombre hair.

Double Slider Cards

I found a great tutorial on how to make these double slider cards, made a bunch of them, now everyone wants instructions & I can't seem to find that same tutorial to put up a link....So I guess this will have to do.
Please bare with me & keep in mind I have only made two videos & I think I might need some practise.

I used fun colours on this card because it was for the little girl who lives over the road.

I used dimensionals to pop-up the top of the balloons & glued the bottom part down, going for a 3d effect.

Josey's birthday card.
Stamp sets: Kenny K's Lady Raven, Wicked Cool & Gorgeous Grunge.
I used copic markers to colour-in Lady Raven & mounted her on an Apothecary Accents framelit, embossed with the Spider Web textured folder.

This is the only slider card I have done in portrait orientation so far.

Sponged sky using a scallop circle as a cloud stencil.
& Dazzling Diamonds for a bit of sparkle.

Scratchy Slider Card, (with the scratchy part on)
I seen a "Scratchy Card" on Dawn's blog & thought it was a fantastic idea, so I had to have a go.
It's basically 2tsp gray acrylic paint mixed with 1tsp dish wash liquid & painted onto acetate. Of course you may need a few coats of the paint to become opaque, then add it to jack paper or adhesive sheet to create a scratchy sticker.
I added a coin to the card (with a glue dot) for the recipient to scratch  the scratchy. 

This is the same card but without the scratchy added (so you can see what I have stamped underneath).

Dad's birthday card.

This was the first slider card that I made.

Card base 11" x 5 3/4", reinforcement strip 1 1/2" x 5 1/4", satin ribbon 1" x 12" sliding tabs 3" x 4", & front 5 1/2" x 3 3/8".
Score card base at 3 3/8",   7"   &   10 5/8".

Halloween

I'm a little bit late getting these pictures up, but they're from our launch. My projects were Halloween, while Shari's projects were Christmas (which I haven't taken photo's of yet, but plan to).

Pam (Shari's mum) made up the water bottles, aren't they fantastic, all wrapped up like mummies.
I made the broom sticks (inspired from the stampin up catalogue), with a chocolate covered musk stick, there's only so much space inside those skinny cello bags.These were some of the goodies we handed out to out guests who attended.

The witches hat box was one of my make & take projects.

The other side of the witches hat box, using the Ribbon Sliders from the Holiday catalogue,  Spider Web Textured Embossing Folder, Wicked Cool, lg Scallop Circle die & Petal Cone Die.

This card was my other Halloween make & take project. I tried to keep it simple yet cram as many elements on it as I could, for a good taste of variety & some new products. 

I gave everyone the choice of colour, red (Cherry Cobbler) or green (Gumball Green), the red was the most popular.
All the elements on this card included; Textured Embossing with the spider web folder, cutting with the Labels Collection Framelits, Heat Embossing with black powder & the bats stamp, stamping with White Frost Shimmer Paint & the spider web stamp, Spritzing with Markers & the new Cherry Cobbler Tulle.
