One of my customers asked if we could do double embossed cards at a workshop, so of course I had to experiment to find one that would be suitable (not to complicated) & have a few samples to show them as well.

ReplyDeleteDid you emboss the frame area first or the background area? How did you keep the unembossed area clear? And how did you get the background embossing up to to framed area?
I too can not figure out the process to double emboss. Can you please hare steps?

DeleteSorry I haven't been able to add proper instruction with photo's for this technique, as I borrowed the frame embossing folder from a friend (I shall try to remember to buy one for myself and do a proper tutorial).
ReplyDeleteYou basically need to emboss the the frame onto regular paper, then cut the frame out & use it as a guide to cut out another frame from thicker card (eg. the card that comes in the back of dsp). Keep both the inside oval & the outside of the frame, these will become your replacements as cutting pads in the bigshot. To make your Bigshot sandwich, place all tab down, card stock inside a patterned embossing folder place outside portion of the frame cut from the thick card on top of the folder then one cutting pad on top. ( note only one cutting pad is needed, because all tabs plus the thickness of the thick card make up for the other cutting pad that you leave out.) Then repeat the process but use the embossing folder with the oval frame instead of the patterned one, placing the frame in the smooth space left from the outside of the thick card used previously, then place the oval frame you've cut out of the thick card on top of the oval frame of the embossing folder, put the sandwich together as previous step, (all tabs down, card stock in folder, thick card oval & one cutting pad). If all that made any sense at all then you might be able to figure it out.... if not I apologize, & will try to get a tutorial up here one ...soon : D
