Angry Birds Punch Art & Sponged Background

Stamp sets: Balloon Builders
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla & Pumpink Pie
Ink: Black Memento, So Saffron, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Pear Pizzazz & Old Olive
Punches: Circles, Cupcake Builder, Owl Builder & Arrow
Techniques: Masking & Sponging

Use post-it notes (sticky notes) and a circle punch for the sun, then I used a piece of acetate cut into a wave to mask the horizon. Using So Saffron, ink up a sponge and tap off the excess ink, then apply the ink in soft circular motions, gradualy adding more until your happy with the results.

Cut some cloud shapes into the sticky side of the post-it-notes and place them on the sides. Ink up the sponge with Soft Sky, tap off the excess ink and lightly add the Soft Sky to the area just above the So Saffron sun glow. Remember you can always add more ink, so build the colour gradually with soft circular motions.

Next use some Marina Mist ink to fill in some more of the sky. These colours look better when slightly overlapped. Continue using the same technique, tapping off and circular motions.

Add some Temtpeing Turquoise to brighten the sky.

A bit of Pacific Point toward the top of the sky.
The sky is always a deep shade of blue when you look up high.

Optional; I like to go back over all the colours in the reverse order (darkest to lightest) to really help the blending, this also fills in any little white bits left behind and intensifies the colour.

Remove the cloud masks.

Using the opposite side of the cloud masks, place them inside the clouds to create a layering affect.

The inverted cloud masks I had were a bit small, so I added some extra post-it notes to mask more of the area.
I used Soft Sky to lightly sponge in a layer of clouds.

Remove the masks.

Place the inverted cloud masks on a bit lower to create another layer.
Repeat the inking with Marina Mist, so these clouds stand a little from the others.

Remove the cloud masks.

Remove all masks.

This time we're covering the sky, so flip the horizon mask over if it fits, or make sure to cut the first one from a big enough piece to use half for the ground & the other half for the sky.
I like to use more post-it notes to hold the mask in place.

Sponge the ground with Pear Pizzazz.

Move the mask down a bit (I used both top & bottom of the mask, even though you can't really see it in the photo) and sponge some Old Olive between the masks.

Move the masks down a bit a repeat.

Remove all masks.  Stamp a greeting on a clear patch of sky.

Layer the sponged scene onto card stock that matches at least one of the characters.

Envelope Fold Card

I saw these cards on splitcoast a little while ago and made one for my friends daughter Paige. I copied the Alice in wonderland theme that Melissa Banbury had done for the tutorial on splitcoast, but forgot to take a photo of that card : / I was really happy with it too.

This card was for my cousin, so I thought bright colours on black & white would work for that job.
Stamp sets: Balloon Celebration, Balloon Builders & Endless Birthday Wishes
Card stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Melon Mambo & Go Wild dsp
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Watermelon Wonder, Strawberry Slush, Melon Mambo, White Craft & Black Memento
Punches: Balloon Bouquet, Circle & Scallop Circle
Extras: Silver Metallic Thread

Front panel tucks into the scallop circle that is attached with dimensionals on one side only.

Whole card opened.

All stamping on the white panel has been stamped off to soften/lighten.

I've attached the silver thread to the back of the balloons (after wrapping around the little triangle bit), then pulled all the threads together, tied a bow around it and used sticky tape to secure the ends on the other side of the card.

Stamp set: Balloon Celebration
Card stock: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Pool Party & Subtles dsp
Ink: So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder, Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist & Craft White
Punches: Balloon Bouquet, Circle & Scallop Circle
Extras: Silver Metallic Thread

Not sure if you can see from the photo, but I've stamped white clouds on the background dsp and dandelions on the Pool Party frame.

This next card for another friends daughter Melinda, who happened to be performing in the local show of "The Little Mermaid". Melinda's character was Alana, one of the sisters (in purple). So...I asked my daughter Jayda to draw the characters for the card. She has drawn them with a black fine liner (after a grey lead sketch) then coloured them in with pencils.

The Little Mermaid themed card

Stamp sets: Fishy Friends & Endless birthday Wishes
Card stock: Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight? Blushing Bride & Bohemian dsp

Punches: Circles, Scallop Circle, Bird Builder & Tree Builder
Techniques: Watercolouring

This was a modified experiment, to try and fit the card around the Home and Hearth Thinlit (window frame), to create the scene outside as view from the window... but it wasn't easy and it didn't turn out as I planned... so this is the only picture I took of this card.

Up date; I found the photos I had taken of the Alice in Wonderland themed card,- silly me...I had them in a different folder on my phone (don't you hate when your memory fills up, then it switches to SD card and forget where the photos are : )

I've slightly changed the measurements in this template to suit me, but they are pretty much the same as the ones Melissa uses on splitcoast.
